Scope of Care

Well Versed Medical Crew

The aero-medical crew consists of a registered critical care flight nurse and flight paramedic as standard composition, however, other disciplines may be utilized to provide clinical assistance depending on the needs of the patient. AeroCare medical crews provide Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS, and Critical Care (CC) and may perform advanced critical care skills when indicated utilizing Standard Medical Orders approved by the Program Medical Director and applicable EMS System Physician(s).

AeroCare’s medical crews’ are highly trained in ACLS and PALS algorithms, critical care physiology and emergent pharmacological agents with didactic and clinical education processes encompassing a myriad of critical care educational topics to include but not limited to: cardiac, neurological, airway and invasive procedures.

The medical flight crew members are highly trained and endure a rigorous orientation and continuing education program. This is geared toward their respective area of expertise and includes but is not limited to: disease processes, in-flight physiology and safety. The Organ Transport Special Operations Group (SOG) consists of highly trained EMS drivers who are responsible for transporting organs, organ recipients and/or organ teams to and from a variety of locations in order to place valuable time sensitive organs that are procured through the regional and national organ procurement association. Through the use of our specialized ground service coupled with a multitude of aviation partners, AeroCare’s SOG ensures that this time sensitive process is carried out seamlessly to ensure the gift of life to those in need.
